I originally found this challenge on the blog of Confessions of a YA Reader but it is being hosted by Book Dragon’s Lair. This is perfect! I am one of those people who feels guilty about spending any “me time”. If I have free time it should be spent on chores, errands, extra work for my day job, etc. I have guilt issues when it comes to hobbies, especially anti-social ones like writing and reading. So yes, this is perfect. It will also tie in nicely to the cyber book club I’ve decided to follow hosted by MG Book Village. I joined Twitter just for this purpose.
The first book is “The Land of Yesterday” by K.A. Reynolds and I already have it in my possession. It has a gorgeous cover and the little blurb on it reads “The only way to survive is to face the ghosts of the past.” Ugh – don’t we all have ghosts in the past? Even if the story ends up being something completely different than my expectations (in fact, isn’t that what we hope for?) I’m sure I will enjoy reading it.
However, before getting lost in my own personal TBR book list, here’s the info about the challenge. I am going to be honest and aim for Bonsai level. Having never done such a challenge or monitored how much I am reading in any way, (and having a sister who reads a billion pages a second) I can only assume I am on the lower level. Maybe I’m underestimating myself, maybe I’m being honest. Time will tell. I encourage all three of you reading my blog to go on and join this challenge.

How many pages can you read this year?This challenge isn’t about how many books you read but rather how many pages. After all, it isn’t fair that I might read 4 titles and another might read 2 titles but we’ve read the same number of pages!
There is one hard rule, one just for general courtesy, several guidelines and eight levels.
Hard Rules
- The book in question must have an ISBN or equivalent. If you can buy it or borrow it, it counts – which just means that all those on-line serials I read don’t count 😉
General Courtesy
- When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post. That way we can find it.
Guidelines
- You can list your books in advance or as you read them. You can also change your list.
- Any genre or length of book counts.
- Anyone can join, you don’t need to be a blogger, just let me know in the comments.
- Reviews are good but not necessary. Once again, you don’t need to be a blogger, there are lots of places to post reviews. Hopefully, they’ll link up so we can read them.
- You may move up a level but not down.
- Crossovers for other challenges count
- Books started before January 1st, 2017 don’t count – unless you start over 😉

i think I would be on the bonsai level too, but i’m sure with relaxation time and enough motivation you can probably reach a higher level ❤

I’m trying! If I ever finish “War & Peace” I’ll probably be able to breeze through more books pretty fast.
